About Us

Hello! We are a group of individuals interested in fresh, modern quilting styles. We meet once a month to socialize, share inspiration and have fun! We meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7pm at the Fairport Baptist Home.  Stop by and join us!

What is Modern Quilting?
From the Modern Quilt Guild Website:
“Modern quilts are primarily functional and inspired by modern design. Modern quilters work in different styles and define modern quilting in different ways, but several characteristics often appear which may help identify a modern quilt. These include, but are not limited to: the use of bold colors and prints, high contrast and graphic areas of solid color, improvisational piecing, minimalism, expansive negative space, and alternate grid work. “Modern traditionalism” or the updating of classic quilt designs is also often seen in modern quilting.”

Jackie Lynn Fabrics suggested I contact you. I had a Nelco Model SAM3B-3 sewing machine with manual given to me that is way beyond my technical mind to figure out how to use it!! I would like to donate it to a group or person. Do you have any interest or know someone who would?

Hope to hear from you soon. I’m moving out of the state in November and would love to find a new home for the machine before I go.

I’m sorry that no one has gotten back to you. We have had a laps in someone manning our email. I’m hoping you were able to find someone to help you with this. If not let us know. – Sherri
